What We Do
InsuranceBest operates an auto insurance quote comparison and lead generation service. We are a marketing platform that connects consumers seeking auto insurance with licensed insurance companies, agents, and brokers ("Network Partners"). We are NOT an insurance company, do not underwrite policies, and do not make coverage decisions.
How Your Information is Shared (Important)
IMPORTANT: When you submit a quote request, we sell/share your contact information and quote details with multiple insurance providers. Each provider may contact you independently by phone, email, and text. You may receive contact from 3-10+ different companies based on your single request.
Information We Collect
For auto insurance quotes, we collect:
- Contact Information: Name, phone number, email address, mailing address, date of birth
- Driver Information: Driver's license number (when required for quotes), driving history (self-reported violations, accidents)
- Vehicle Information: Make, model, year, VIN, current insurance status
- Coverage Preferences: Desired coverage levels, deductibles, coverage start date
- Device and Usage Data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, ad interactions, cookies and tracking technologies, time spent on site
What We DON'T Collect: Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, bank account information, or credit reports. Insurance companies pull credit reports after receiving your lead from us.
We also receive information from: Service providers (hosting, analytics, email/SMS platforms), advertising partners, social media platforms, and other third-party sources that may provide contact details, demographic data, or device/usage information.
How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to:
- Connect you with Network Partners who can provide insurance quotes
- Send you marketing communications about insurance and related services
- Operate, maintain, and improve our website and Services
- Analyze usage patterns and conduct research
- Prevent fraud and ensure security
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests
- Support business operations and transactions
Who We Share Your Information With
We share/sell your information with:
- Network Partners (insurance companies, agents, brokers) – They will contact you directly to provide quotes and may share your information with their own partners
- Service Providers – Companies that help us operate (hosting, analytics, email/SMS delivery, customer support, advertising)
- Advertising Partners – For targeted advertising, measurement, and analytics (including cross-device and retargeting)
- Legal Authorities – When required by law or to protect rights and safety
- Business Transferees – In connection with mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales
Important: Network Partners are independent businesses with their own privacy practices. Once we share your information with them, their privacy policies govern their use of your information. Network Partners may share your information with their own affiliates, service providers, and marketing partners.
We may also share aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized information that cannot reasonably identify you.
